Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI)
Make your heating work for you with incentives!
Renewable Heating Incentives (RHI), offered by the government, mean that REM’s green heating systems will not just cut energy bills, but additionally make you money as well. With the imminent phasing out of the government's LCBP grants which gave the householder a one off payment for installing a renewable heating system, the government has announced the introduction of the Renewable Heating Incentive which will replace the old grant scheme from 1st April 2011.
Heat Pump installation, solar system installation or installing gas condensing boilers in your property has never been so easy, as you will now be eligible for the RHI scheme. The government estimates how much renewable energy your system produces and a fixed amount is paid each year - up to 18p for every kWh of energy.
The renewable heating incentive depends on the type of green heating system you choose to install. However, a current estimate is that a home using 15,000kWh of heat a year - an average amount - could be eligible for as much as £1,400 a year simply for having renewable heating technology installed.
The renewable heat incentive scheme will ultimately last between 10 and 23 years, and is coming into effect as of spring 2011, though back payments will be made to today. Reducing carbon emissions and stimulating the UK’s green economy is what this heating incentive is aiming for. The renewable heating incentive is a replica of the successful Feed-In-Tariff scheme which paid property owners for producing renewable electricity.
RHI reduce the payback period for green energy systems considerably and will leave the homeowner with long term profit. Cutting energy bills, is what every home owner is wanting to do, and the heating incentives makes REM’s cutting edge green heating systems a sensible investment for the future, both financially and environmentally.
